Our Beliefs:  We Strive to Provide

1. Student learning in a Christ-centered environment is the chief priority of Athens Bible School.

2. Bible instruction and moral training are key components of the school’s mission.

3. Students’ learning needs should be the primary focus of all decisions impacting the work of the school.

4. Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process by solving problems and producing quality work repeatedly.

5. Each student is a valued individual with unique spiritual, physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.

6. A safe and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning.

7. Teachers, administrators, and parents share the responsibility for advancing the school’s mission.

8. The commitment to continuous improvement is imperative if our school is going to enable students to become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners.

What makes ABS unique?

Athens Bible School holds a very unique position in Athens-Limestone County.

We are a school that can teach the Bible and hold chapel services for our children.

Academically we excel:

  • Our class averages on the S.A.T. scores are two grade levels above the grade the children are in.  While the national average is 50%, our school average for the past several years has been above 76% for all grades tested.  Individual scores soar high above local, state, and national averages.
  • We offer the Advanced Dual Enrollment Diploma as well as the regular diploma.  Dual Enrollment College English and Spanish courses are also available.  Approximately half of our seniors graduate each year with an Advanced Diploma and win Presidential Academic Fitness Awards.  Several have been finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program.  Over 95% of our students go on to higher education.
  • Our Beta Club has excelled for many years with state and national championships.  Our Scholars Bowl team has competed and won prestigious meets.  This includes competition with schools of every size including 6-A schools.  Several of our students competing in our History Fair have won trips on the state and national levels.

We offer students a broad spectrum of extracurricular activities, and many of our athletic teams compete on a state level and have won several state championships.

Our dedicated  administration, teachers  and staffare the heart of the school.  They are some of the most gifted and qualified teachers in the state, attending workshops and conferences to keep abreast of the latest educational developments.  The majority of the faculty have been selected to Who's Who Among American Teachers.

Our student-teacher ratio is quite low, averaging about 19 students per teacher.

We have the natural excitement of children who love their school.  ABS has the maturity and experience that comes with over fifty years of service to the community.

Our beautiful facilities have been renovated, and we have an ongoing commitment to upgrading our property when necessary.

ABS continues to contribute to the community in many ways.  The Musical Explosion and Homespun are two of the largest community activities that allow people the enjoyment of clean entertainment and seeing what ABS is all about.

We have a safe, clean environment for our children.  Our children learn to succeed in life in many ways.  ABS is trying to educate the child spiritually, morally, physically, and socially.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of  good repute,
if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of  praise, let your mind dwell on these things.  Philippians 4:8
