Prior to the dinner a reception was held in the ABS Library for sponsors and individuals who wanted to meet Coach Stallings personally.

Avid fans of Coach Stallings were eager to get his autograph on sports memorabilia and copies of his book, Another Season. 

Students and volunteers had converted the gym into a dining hall prepared for up to six hundred guests to enjoy a delicious meal. 

Mark Narmore, a singer/songwriter from Killen, AL, entertained the crowd during the meal. He performed a selection of original and locally recorded songs and shared some of his experiences as a songwriter.
 

Athens Bible School Principal Dr. Joseph Olson addressed sponsors at the fundraiser event at Athens Bible School.

The event was held to raise funds to build new school facilities and featured former University of Alabama football coach Gene Stallings as guest speaker.

Coach Stallings was asked to address the status of Alabama football and stated that he thought the University of Alabama would have a good season this year.

The main message from Coach Stallings dealt with teaching our children to think right and work hard. He emphasized the importance of parents "being there" for their children.

Referring to ABS plans to build new school facilities, he added that any kind of progress required sacrifice.
